Reached out to Several roofers to get estimates on damage to my roof. A guy named Jake the owner from smart choice arrived did an inspection my home. Thereafter he began touting how good he was and how good his company was. He went into detail about all that needed to be done and how well his company would do it. Sometime later I decided to use his company. We decided on a date. Weeks or rain I assumed would delay this date. All the way up to a few days before this scheduled date, I had not heard a perp from Jake. I had delayed starting a new job because I wanted to be here to watch them. Too many horror stories about roofers and I was not going to add to the stories. I ended up having to contact him . He later called stating that he was too busy getting caught up due to the weather. I told him that I understood and he stated there would be a few days delay and he would contact me......never heard from him again until I sent him a text stating that I was out.....not going to use his company. I Explained that whatever the problem was all it took was a simple phone call to inform me he again stated that he was too busy to do so. He then told me that I would be sorry that I did not use his company. He further Stated much of the same thing as before that he was just too busy. He was actually perplexed that I decided not to use them. Don't waste your time listening to all the hot air that Jake spews go with another company

Jason/Jake Norris took a down payment. Did not complete the job as contracted. I had to hire Ruel Roofing to complete job. Lied too many times. Not an honest individual. Has a record with small claims courts for breach of contract. In Illinois and Indiana.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Regarding my roof and Jake Norris @Smartchoice Construction. He also calls his business Roofsmart. He is all talk, talking about how good his company is and how he has 31 years of experience. Very polite when giving you an estimate. He will then take your check and cash it and keep giving you excuses why he can't start the job on the day he says he will. He took 4,025 from us and then after doing minimal work and opening our roof up to the elements - and DAYLIGHT he quit. Yes, he quit and left our roof open and will not return any of our money.
