Joe Steven Boyd | I wear an older, green military jacket during the winter. Took it to be cleaned, and it came back good except for the inside collar, which was the main reason for having the jacket cleaned. First Klass Cleaners promptly redid the jacket, got it much cleaner in the collar area, and at no extra charge. The jacket was fine and I am thankful for the kind treatment and patience I was shown from several different employees who seemed to go out of their way to accommodate and be nice to me. I appreciate the extra effort. Thank you, First Klass Cleaners in Castroville. |
Emilee Dale | We have been using this dry cleaner for about a year, and consistently spend between 40-60 per week there. Other than one rude staff member, I've had no other issues there until recently. I brought in a brand new dress to be washed and pressed before it was worn for a business meeting. Once we picked it up and brought it home, I noticed it had what looked like a stain and a scratch maybe from being caught on a hangar?. Because of the stain and mark, I wasn't able to use it for the event I purchased it for. Took the dress back and asked to have it looked at and rewashed. The same employee that took the dress in the first time was there she is also the employee that was rude on a previous occasion and she remembers that the dress was new, still had the tags and had no marks when we dropped it off the first time. She also keeps saying that “all they did was press it”, as if there is no way they could've ruined it, since all they did was press it. After I explain that I will give them a chance to redo, but if that doesn't work, I'll want the dress replaced, she says she will take it as a do-over and leave a note for the owners and that the dress will be ready after 5 the following Monday. I show up after 5 on the agreed upon date, and my dress still is not ready. Let me also say, Castroville is a 20 mile round trip, and this is the 3rd trip I've made for this dress. I talk to a different employee who again says she will leave a note for the owners and they should call us on Tuesday, and I leave again without my dress. No phone call from the owners all week. We finally go back out today and the dress still has the stain and mark, so I state that I want my dress replaced. Unfortunately it's the same employee who took the dress in. She's more concerned with pointing out that she can't make that decision and she didn't ruin the dress and pointing out, twice more, that all they did was press the dress, even though she still recalls it coming to them new, with tags and no marks. She says she will take my number and have the owner call me. She refuses to give me a number at which I can reach the owners. At this point, I've run out of patience with her and the owners. Obviously the employees nor the owners have any care for their customers. I've had 2 other cleaners ruin shirts more expensive than this dress and I've never had to go through this much drama to get them replaced. I'm all about supporting small businesses, but I'll no longer be supporting this one. Not to mention they are WAY overpriced compared to other nearby cleaners. I am lucky this was only a 40 dress from old navy, so it is relatively easy to replace. There is no way I'll trust this business with my or my husbands expensive work suits again, knowing that they take zero responsibility for the clothes they ruin. |
