| Jeff Glider | Where to start with Matteson and Sons.... the most incompetent brick layers I have ever seen. I hired them to do a tear down and rebuild of chimney. Jerry Matteson required half down and the rest due at completion. I wrote a check for 1/2 and let him start. Tear down went fine, except for broken chairs and table that they didn't move before they started throwing down old bricks. They then started to rebuild. After the first few rows were done, I knew there was a problem. Bricks we not even close to being level and the mortar looked like it was flung at bricks from 10 feet away. They were gone by the time I got homeas they only work a few hours a day. I called Jerry and he said he knew they started a little crooked but assured me they would fix the next day. The next day they completed about half the chimney. Again they were gone when i got home. I inspected there work and took pictures again. I called Jerry and told him not to come back until I said it was ok. I found another chimney masonry to come out and look at Jerry's work and he was dumbfounded as to the incompetency. I had to pay another company to tear down Matteson and Sons work and start from scratch. I have been trying to get my money back from Jerry Matteson to no avail. I will have to sue them to try and recoup my losses. PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT USE MATTESON AND SONS FOR ANY WORK....YOU WILL REGRET IT!! |
